Online Chinese culture contest concludes

The 2013 global online Chinese culture contest ended on May 15, 2013.

The special prize will be announced soon and includes a trip to China, providing an opportunity to explore the colorful culture of China's different regions.

There will be a total of 100 first, second, third and participation prize winners for the online quiz. The essay contest will have 40 winners. The winners will receive a brocade scroll painting or a silk scarf.

Over 1,800 participants from countries such as the US, Britain, Canada, Spain, India and China took part in the online contest. Contestants spanned not only continents, but also occupations. Participants included professors, writers, musicians, doctors and lawyers to name a few.

The activity was sponsored by the Bureau for External Cultural Relations in the Chinese Ministry of Culture and can be accessed on Chinaculture.org. It is one of the most authoritative multilingual online interactive activities about Chinese culture this year.

The online competition consists of two parts, an online quiz and an essay contest.

The list of prize winners will be announced on Chinaculture.org, and prizes will be sent out soon.
