Father arrested for raping daughter

A man living in Zhejiang province has been arrested and charged for raping his 11-year-old daughter over a period of two months, local police said on Wednesday.

Police in Zhejiang's Yiwu city said they seized the man surnamed Lu after his wife called on Tuesday and said her daughter had been repeatedly raped by him.

The sexual abuse had been carried out in secret for two months.

The suspect later confessed to the crime completely, police said.

The suspect and his wife are migrants from Yunnan province and the father always beat the daughter with a bamboo stick, with the excuse that she is naughty, according to local police.
