BEIJING - Zhu Zuoli, a senior political adviser of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, is under investigation for suspected serious discipline and law violation, the discipline watchdog of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said Wednesday.

Zhu became the second high-level official probed in last 24 hours, following Ji Wenlin, vice-governor of Hainan province.[Read more]
Zhu is vice-chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
The CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) said this in a brief news bulletin on its website.

Ji Wenlin is the first ministerial-level official to be placed under investigation by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection this year. Last year, the commission probed at least 17 officials at the same level.
