Couple divorce 3 days after marriage

A young couple in Wuhan of Hubei Province - the husband aged 23 and the wife 21 - divorced only three days after their wedding ceremony, Chutian Jinbao reports.

The simplification of divorce procedures in the country make it easier for those who want to part but at the same time, make it possible for people to divorce on impulse, said Feng Jihong with Civil Affairs Department in Wuchang District.

Feng cited the example of a young woman who fainted after her divorce came through, saying she regretted her impulsive decision.

She also urged young couples to show more commitment to their marriage.

Tamer attacked by tigers, for stepping into enclosure

A young tamer at a wildlife park in Ya'an, Sichuan Province, was seriously injured by several tigers on Tuesday, reports China West Metropolis News.

According to his colleagues, Tang didn't realize he had stepped into the tiger enclosure after he herded them back into it and was attacked by the beasts, which were in heat.

The man was rescued by his fellow workers and rushed to hospital where he is in critical condition.

Model's swimsuit photo defames her

A website that used a swimsuit photo of a model along with a news report about a crackdown on street girls was ordered by a court in Nanjing of Jiangsu Province to pay 10,000 yuan (US$1,200) in compensation to the woman for defaming her, reports Xinhuanet.com.

The company in Hainan Province used the photo of the 25-year-old model, Li Yuanyuan from Nanjing, which was taken when Li was participating in a beauty contest.

It was also ordered to make a public apology on its website.

20 hours of sleep a day makes boy ill

A 13-year-old boy in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region who sleeps around 20 hours per day, is reportedly in poor health due to excessive sleep, reports Xinhuanet.com.

The boy's teacher said Sun Jianren was often sleepy in class and frequently falls asleep at his desk.

His family said apart from having dinner and doing homework, Sun spends almost all the time in bed which has led to poor hearing and a weak constitution for which he is being treated.
