Former jailbird Paris Hilton will join the cast of 'Repo! The Genetic Opera', a musical thriller.

The heiress will co-star with Alexa Vega and Paul Sorvino in the flick, which is set in 2056, when plague epidemic is on the run to wipe out the entire humankind.

The only ones, who can afford a costly organ transplant, can hope to survive.

Hilton will play the daughter of an organ transplant magnate (Sorvino).

Director Darren Lynn Bousman of "Saw" films fame said that the actress is the prefect choice for the role.

"This movie has become my life. I have auditioned at least 30 actresses for this role -- Paris came in and owned it. She is this role," Variety quoted Bousman, as saying.

"We saw many actresses for the role, and Paris sang it better than all of them," added Mazzocone.

Mark Burg and Oren Koules are producing the film.
