Abstract: Years ago, a mature platform-based development mode had taken shape in social media, e-commerce and other sectors. And in recent years, a new generation of information technology has，through an innovation-oriented approach, overcome obstacles relating to the utilization of networking, digitalization and smart technologies for the development of industrial manufacturing industry, and ushered in the platform of industrial Internet. The industrial Internet platform will, on the basis of intellectual property and technological standards of industrial manufacturing sector, construct an even grander manufacturing eco-system, which will put in place unified allocation of global productive factors and market resources, and exert great influence on international industrial labor division, the global trade pattern and globalization. To reach this goal, Germany and the U.S. have both channeled the construction of industrial Internet platform respectively into the “Industry 4.0” Strategy and the “National Network for Manufacturing Innovation” program. China should incorporate the industrial Internet platform construction into the “Made in China 2025” plan as soon as possible, and take it as the main target for enhancing the integrated development of manufacturing industry with Internet.
