There's nothing better on a lazy summer day than just jumping in the car, rolling down the windows and letting the wind caress your hair as you hit the open road and Inner Mongolia provides the perfect setting.
The region is holding a month-long driving festival, which allows participants to enjoy the unique northern landscape -- prairies, deserts, wetlands -- and folk customs at the same time along a 5,000 km drive.
They are also able to enjoy taste of the herdsman's life, and spend some time at a campfire party with other drivers.
The region is also working on a winter driving route designed to complement the summer route, to make Inner Mongolia the ideal choice for a driving adventure.
High-speed train debuts in Inner Mongolia
A bullet train departed Hohhot East Railway Station for Ulanqab marking the start of high-speed rail services using Inner Mongolia’s first newly-laid high-speed railway on Aug 3.
