Located at No 33 east street in Qixian county, Shanxi province, a large architectral complex belonged to a celebrated business family,known as Qu's Compound 100 years ago. The Qus was an eminent family in Shanxi,back in the 18th centry, the family grew and thrived through tea trade. In 1860,the Qus established a bank, naming it Baichuantong.In 1862, the Qu family started another bank, the Sanjinyuan which prepell them into the rank of other tycoons.The founder of Sanjinyuan was Qu Benqiao's father, Qu Yuanzhen.During the Self-strengthening Movement, Qu's bank has made some industrial investment.
