With a theme of ancient Chinese civilization and scenery in Shanxi, the annual Shanxi Tourism Development Conference carries out tourism promotions, exhibitions and investment events. It's an important platform for Shanxi to promote its tourism profile and boost tourism development.

The host city of the conference each year is selected through The Impressive Scenery of Shanxi, a TV program featuring performances from 11 cities with senior officials in each city competing with each other onstage in a light-hearted manner to promote their cities and attract more visitors.

This year's conference is held in Linfen city from Sept 19 to 21.
