Application for the 9th China Photography Gold Prize was concluded on April 6. Since the started of the project on January 17, the organizing committee has received application materials from 284 photographers from 27 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities.
As a result of 20 days of archaeological excavation, archaeologists of the Palace Museum have finally unveiled that the famous Mount Wudang glazed tiles of 600 years history that stem from the local kilns popularly known as "72 official kilns".

In the afternoon of April 19, a grand ceremony was held in the peach blossom quarter of Pinggu district of Beijing, a world class scenic spot. It extended honorary titles of China's most charming village for recreation in 2011. The activity was sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA).
On May 9, Wang Guosheng, Hubei's provincial governor, promoted Wudang tourism during his visit to Taiwan and expected the two sides of the Taiwan Strait to enhance exchanges through the tourism industry.
In the first four months of 2012, Mount Wudang scenic area received 1.42 million Chinese and foreign tourists, up 36.6 percent. They created 758 million yuan ($119.9 million) in tourism revenues, up 41.2 percent.
Since early 2012, the Mount Wudang special zone has received visits from many media groups. This is in addition to the traditional practice of promoting the brand in influential media including CCTV, China Tourism News, China Comment, Asia TV, and on planes and express trains.
Staff workers of Mount Wudang scenic area have taken the initiative to offer free services of boiling water, shoe cleaning, mobile phone charging and advisory services to tourists. They have also presented tourism materials and earnestly solved problems for tourists.
