I think the essence of auto show is marketing and entertainment, not product's quality and technology. If people want to learn about technology, they would go to a technology museum, laboratory, classroom or magazine stand instead of auto shows. The auto company's purpose is to sell products, so catching people's eyes is very important and the models help a lot. Nowadays, buying is not only about quality of the product, it is also about service, experience and emotional connection to the product.
