Man bikes around China giving blood

Gao Yonghua, a model blood donor, shows his 83 blood donor certificates at home in Fuzhou, East China’s Fujian province, Feb 20, 2012. The 68-year-old farmer has given blood 126 times over two decades. Moreover, since 1997, he spent at least six months a year bicycling around China, passing through more than 2,000 cities and counties in 31 provinces. He has traveled more than 120,000 kilometers in the past 15 years, bicycling through cities that have blood stations. He said that although blood donations by one person is limited (200 ml to 400 ml each time), the amount will add up if more people gave blood. [Photo/Xinhua]
