Xi'an Jiaotong University will hold the re-examination of its independent recruitment from March 17 to March 18. More than 1,200 candidates who have obtained the re-examination qualification through the AAA Test will take part in the re-examination.

Xi'an Jiaotong University plans to select 650 science and engineering candidates, 40 literature and history candidates and 20 self-improvement program candidates from the re-examination in 2012.

Every five candidates will be divided into a group to have a one-hour interview. Five judges from the fields of natural sciences, humanities and social sciences, as well as psychological experts and English teachers will test students. They will be marked for their knowledge of humanities, innovation through English expression and communication, psychology, scientific knowledge, analyzing ability, group discussions and other aspects.

According to Zheng Qinghua, admissions office of Xi'an Jiaotong University, the re-examination is mainly designed to test students' inherent abilities, which could not be tested through a written exam.

Xi'an Jiaotong University will enroll the most excellent candidates through the preliminary test and the re-examination. Those who are outstanding in one subject or in certain areas will also be enrolled.

Among the 1,200 candidates, more than 20 are self-improvement program candidates from national poverty-stricken counties. Xi'an Jiaotong University will undertake their transportation accommodation and catering costs in Xi'an during the re-examination.

More than 46,000 candidates will take part in the Academic Aptitude Test for high-level university independent recruitment (AAA Test) held by Xi'an Jiaotong University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Renmin University of China, China Science & Technology University, Nanjing University, Zhejiang University and Tsinghua University. Approximately, 9,290 candidates registered for Xi'an Jiaotong University.
