Technically perfected premium SUV Touareg makes world premiere

The Touareg is one of the world's most successful premium-class SUVs. Within one decade, Volkswagen has sold around 720,000 units of the high-class sport utility vehicle, which combines the best of the passenger car and off-road worlds in one package.

Compared to the previous generation, the new Touareg is technically perfected and comes equipped with a series of standard features, including bi-xenon headlights, an automatic post-collision braking system and a coasting function. In addition, it has the 4MOTION all-wheel drive system with Torsen differential lock (max. climbing angle: 31 degrees) and an off-road driving program. Air suspension is available as an option. Further developed was the ACC adaptive cruise control with Front Assist (now with stop-and-go function), which further improves the new Touareg’s urban driving and off-roading performance. The petrol engines for the Chinese versions produce 213 kW / 290 PS, 235 kW / 320 PS (both V6 TSI) and 265 kW / 360 PS (V8 FSI).

The redesigned New Touareg can be easily made out by the new front and rear designs and by their new colors and wheels. The interior of the versatile all-round vehicle is marked by new features, including new accents, leather colors, lighting solutions and controls.
