Zhouzhuang showcased at Expo Milano 2015

Zhouzhuang, a water town in Eastern China's Jiangsu province, unveiled its natural charms at an international tourism seminar held at the China Pavilion at Expo Milano 2015, in Milan, Italy, July 19.

The seminar, titled "Watery Town, Beautiful Zhouzhuang", aims at exhibiting Zhouzhuang's beautiful natural scenery, rich historical and cultural resources and essential folk customs.

Zhang Weiqing, general manager of Jiangsu Water-town Zhouzhuang Tourism Co., said at the seminar that Zhouzhuang sees its promotion events at the Expo Milano 2015 as part of its marketing strategy in overseas markets. Zhouzhuang will strive to become a world famous tourist destination by promoting more cooperation with Italy and other European countries in the field of tourism.

At the seminar, the Jiangsu Water-town Zhouzhuang Tourism Co. signed a cooperation agreement with Best Tours, Italy's largest outbound travel company. The two parties will have mutual cooperation in such fields as brand enhancing and travel market expanding.

Zhouzhuang, acclaimed as "China's No1 Water Town", is famed for its profound culture and history, well preserved ancient residential houses and the elegant waterway views. It was cited on "World's 52 Places to go in 2015" list by the New York Times in 2015. It was rated by CNN as one of the "World's most beautiful towns" in 2012, and it was evaluated by the United Nations as the "Global Best Eco-tourism Scenic Spot" in 2012.
