Xuelang Mountain become a wonderland of optical artistry

Hot air balloon, windmill, mushroom house, pumpkin coach, little ducks and dolphins, things from fairy tales turned Xuelang Mountain into a light illuminated world.

Around 2.5 million tiny multicolored lights decorated the houses, trees, paths and creek banks, covering the 20-hectare light festival field in the Xuelang ecological park in Wuxi.

The festival will open on Aug 12 evening and run for two months until Oct 15. It is the latest work of a media group behind the Luoyang Light Festival, the first of its kind in China, which was a great success and attracted 1.2 million tourists last year.

"Using advanced technologies, the light festival is environmental friendly", said a manager of the festival.

He said rich natural resources such as slopes, creeks and vast lavender fields at Xuelang Mountain make it an ideal place for the optic wonderland. The festival organizer hopes the festival will let more people know Xuelang Mountain, which was once a place for farming before the business group came here to make it a holiday resort.

The ecological park is surrounded by catering and entertainment facilities around Jiangnan University and Wanda cultural Tourism City.

Other activities popular among young people, such as kart racing and rafting are also developed recently.
