Eating insects
Authorities at Huazhong Agricultural University in Hubei province held a banquet of insects in order to help students learn more about the insects, Chutian Metropolis Daily reported.
Twenty-five kilograms of several kinds of insects, such as honeybee pupas and locusts, were consumed.

Dangerous intersections
The Ministry of Public Security published 10 dangerous traffic sections across the country to remind drivers to be aware of safety. The intersections were in eight provinces, including Shanxi, Fujian, and Shaanxi, Xi'an Evening News reported.
Two of the intersections are in Shaanxi province, and 262 people have been killed in accidents there over the past nine years.

Masked burglars
Two burglary suspects in Anhui province were caught by police after pulling more than 20 jobs. They changed their appearance with different masks and wigs every time, Beijing Morning Post reported.
Similar cases also exist in Jiangsu province, and the masks can be easily purchased online.
Baby death
Hong Kong police arrested a 31-year-old woman, surnamed Wu, on Monday after she admitted she had accidentally killed her 6-month-old baby girl and left the body in a garbage can.
The baby's mother called the police in November, saying that her baby had been taken from her stroller outside a park while she was giving directions to the kidnapper.

Defendants at trial
Authorities from Henan province high court asked its local branches to avoid marking defendants during trials, such as with shaved heads and prison uniforms, Dahe Daily reported.
Defendants should wear normal clothing and sit with their lawyers, authorities said.

Prison life begins
Li Tianyi, the 17-year-old son of two well-known singers in the People's Liberation Army, has started his prison life at Beijing Juvenile Delinquents Prison, and he will be transferred to a prison for adults when he turns 18, Beijing Youth Daily reported.
Li is serving a 10-year sentence after being found guilty, along with four others, of sexually assaulting a woman at a hotel in Beijing on Feb 17 after a night of drinking.
