Pavilion: Xinjiang is a nice place

Have you been to Xinjiang? Famous for its vast landscape and diverse ethnic customs, culture and arts, the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region in Northwest China brings its dynamite and wonders to the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai during Xinjiang Week.

Under the theme of "Xinjiang is a Nice Place", the Xinjiang Pavilion, divided in three sections, demonstrates the generosity and cheerfulness of the Xinjiang people, and also their profound achievements.

Nephrite, or Hetian Jade, representing harmony, righteousness and dignity in Chinese culture, is among the five most famous kinds of jade in China, and is mostly found in Xinjiang. The nephrite sculptures displayed in the Xinjiang Pavilion showcase the highly developed jade arts in Xinjiang and fascinate visitors with their delicate craftsmanship and humbly glowing beauty.

Right after the serenity of enjoying the jade arts, artists from Xinjiang will bring you an otherwise enthusiastic show. Amid the cheerful music and dancing, you can surely feel the hospitable nature of the Xinjiang people.

Walking into the third section of the Xinjiang Pavilion is like walking into an orchard. The ceiling is decorated with giant grapes, and lying along the path are huge models of various fresh fruits and nuts. Xinjiang enjoys fame as the "capital of fruits". If one day you visit Xinjiang, I am sure the trip will be really sweet.
