Ian Beesley is one of the UK's most respected social documentary photographers with a career spanning over 30 years he is reknowned for his work documenting the decline of industrial society in the North of England. His work is included in the collections of the National Media Museum, Bradford, The National Museum of Coal Mining England, The Imperial War Museum London. The National Museum of Labour History Manchester, The Victoria & Albert Museum London, The National Museum of Labour, Helsinki, & The Smithsonian Museum, Washington USA. He is regarded as one of the best black and white printers of his generation. He has published over twenty books of his work, he is currently working on another two to be published in 2011 and he is also the course leader for the MA photography at the University of Bolton, England.
