Alberta rolls out the red carpet for winter tourism aficionados

Besides, the park offers a ski buffet, where one ticket enables visitors to savor different experiences in the pristine Lake Louise, the high-altitude Sunshine Village and family-friendly Mt. Norquay. Visitors can board a gondola on Lake Louise and take in the views of the Victoria and Temple mountains.

The Sunshine Village offers a ski-in and ski-out vacation for families who can enjoy unforgettable nights at the slope-side Sunshine Mountain Lodge. Ski lessons and wine and cheese are also available for visitors.

Meanwhile, the village has introduced 10 new routes at the Great Divide Terrain Park. The routes satisfy the needs of beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers.

Those who do not ski or snowboard can enjoy a sightseeing tour of the village, which offers gondola access to the village, a ride up the Angel Express Quad chairlift and food and beverage discounts.

Mt Norquay allows skiers to go down the famous North American, a challenging black diamond speckled with bumps, while vistas of Banff townsite span out below.

Separately, Hainan Airlines is now offering discounted tickets for winter travelers.

A one-way ticket from Chengdu to Calgary via Beijing costs roughly 1,800 yuan ($265.7) during the October-December period.

The airline launched a direct flight from Beijing to Calgary in July. The flight runs four times a week from November.

"Seat occupancy rate has been more than 80 percent ever since the flight was launched," says Deng Lizhang, marketing and sales general manager of Hainan Airlines Co's northern China section.

Calgary airport handles 250 daily flights to more than 80 destinations, enabling tourists to easily travel to other destinations in the province and country.
