Confessions of Japanese war criminal Taiji Ohno

Ohno was born in Kochi prefecture, Japan, in 1902. In December 1934, he volunteered to become a police service instructor of "Manchukuo". In October 1938, Ohno was dispatched to the Autonomous Government of North Shanxi. After Japan's surrender in August 1945, he took refuge in Yan Xishan's troops and served as colonel instructor of the Artillery Training Camp of Taiyuan Pacification Office. He was arrested on December 12, 1950, in Shanxi.

During the war, Ohno committed a number of crimes from 1935 to 1945, including killing 654 Chinese people in 35 cases, burning down 47 households with 146 rooms, raping 14 people in nine cases, torturing 724 people and plundering 64,000 tons of grain as well as 3,600 silver dollars.

In August 1935, Ohno tortured 20 people through beating, bloating them with water, binding and hanging.?

In 1936, he joined the Depopulated Zone Working Team, which created depopulated areas. He also interrogated the Chinese hero Zhao Yiman.

From August 1936 to June 1937, Ohno organized a Baojia Self-Defense Regiment and ordered the members to cut off victims' ears as proof when killing soldiers of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army and collaborators. The Baojia Self-Defense Regiment killed nine soldiers, cutting off the ears of eight of them and the heads of all nine.

In February 1937, Ohno ordered his subordinate to poison a beggar because he thought the beggar was dirty.

Around August 1937, Ohno ordered his subordinate to kill a prisoner who did not confess.

Around May 1940, Ohno ordered that three Chinese people be shot dead on the execution ground outside Yingxian county.
