Ethiopian Airlines is offering special September discounts

Ethiopian Airlines is launching promotional fares to attract Chinese customers and to celebrate the upcoming Ethiopian New Year.

Ethiopian New Year, also known as Enkutatash, is marked on Meskerem 1 on the Ethiopian calendar, which falls on Sept 11 this year. The celebration is both religious and secular, with the day beginning with church services followed by the family meal.

Yared Berta, the airline's representative in China, said that to celebrate the festival, all the company's flights from China to Ethiopia will be discounted 20 percent for customers booking at its official Chinese website, www.ethiopianairlines.com.cn, from now to Sept 30.

The airline has 28 weekly flights from China, including Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
