The centre of Typhoon Utor, the fourth of the season, will move northwest at a speed of 30 kilometres per hour and will hit the coast around Shantou and Yangjiang in Guangdong Province. With it there will be winds of force 7-10 over the Taiwan Straits, the middle and northern parts of the South China Sea, the East China Sea, the middle and eastern parts of Guangdong Province, the coastal regions in southern Fujian Province and the coastal regions of southern Zhejiang Province. The sea surface and regions swept by the centre of the typhoon will experience winds of force 11-12. Heavy to torrential rain will hit Taiwan, Fujian, Guangdong and southern Jiangxi provinces.
