          Chinese national games for disabled feature 52 world marks

          The week-long competitions of China's 6th national games for the disabled finished here on Tuesday, with world record-breaking performance in four sports.

          Tuesday witnessed the last actions in the men's and women's marathon and half-marathon races in Nanjing, capital of the hosting province of Jiangsu.

          According to Anne Green, Chairperson Swimming of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), the world governing body for physically and mentally handicapped athletes, some of the new swimming world records established at the Chinese games had been recognized by the IPC.

          Of the world-class performance produced at the games were 28 in athletics, 15 in swimming, seven in powerlifting and two in shooting.

          On the program were 15 sports, including six with world records. Chinese athletes bettered world marks in four of the sports at the games. World records in archery and cycling remain unchanged.

          The 6th Chinese national games for the disabled will close here on Wednesday.
