Oriental College Town is built at LangFang Economic & Technical Development Zone along Tianjin - Beijing - Tanggu Expressway. It faces westwards to Beijing, the capital of China, and eastwards to Tianjin & Bohai Bay, that is, it's right in the center of the Economic Circle around Bohai Bay. So it's very rich in education resources.

In September 2000, one dream of Beijing Foreign Enterprises Service Co., Ltd. came true. Oriental College Town invested by this company finished building the first phase of this construction, with the floorage of 570,000 square meters. Almost 10 thousand students from Beijing No.25 High School and 7 colleges & universities such as Beijing Industrial University, Beijing Industrial & Commercial University have studied and lived here. Oriental College Town opens a new era of Chinese higher education. One year later, after the completion of the second phase, six colleges & universities such as China Geology University and Beijing Space & Aeronautics University will make use of the facilities, covering the floorage of 1 million 200 thousand square meters. Up to then, there will be 25 thousand students from 13 colleges & universities in the Oriental College Town. It develops vigorously again. In the next decade, Beijing Foreign Enterprises Service Co., Ltd. Will invest twelve billion yuan and finish building the whole town with an area of 20 thousand mu and with the floorage of 7 million 800 thousand square meters. Finally Oriental College Town will be built into a modern will-functioning educational park and accommodate 150 thousand students & 50 thousand faculty staffs.

Oriental College Town is operated and managed in the mode of enterprise investment, government supports, industrialized operation and socialized services. In addition, it adopts the brand-new mechanism of unified management, division of responsibility, resources co-utilization and superiority complementation. It's advantageous to establish more effective service system, to adjust different academic spirits, the different academic and cultural atmosphere to collide and blend each other. It also provides vast space for the international education cooperation and culture exchange.

Oriental College Town isn't only an educational and scientific town, but also will be an ecological, cultural and civilization town, an industrialized town, a town for human resources and for tourism.

Oriental College Town is regarded as a breakthrough of Chinese higher education. It's the first time that the higher education in China. It's the first time that the higher education in China is invested and built by the social forces, instead of being done completely by the government. As a result, more and more young people can be given an opportunity to go to the colleges & universities and to receive higher education.
