Thai Prime Minister eyes Fulham purchase- reports
          ( 2003-10-31 11:28) (football asia)

Thailand Prime Minister, Thaksin Shinawatra, alongside a consortium of heavyweight businessmen, has expressed an interest in buying English Premiership club Fulham, accoriding to reports.

"Fulham has a very attractive price compared with its performance this season," said Thaksin. "Other soccer clubs are too expensive."

Japanese international midfielder Junichi Inamoto is currently playing at the club and should the deal pull through, there is every possibility that Thai internationals could well find their way playing in arguably one of the top leagues of the world.

Fulham is currently owned by Egyptian business tycoon Mohamed Al-Fayed, the owner of Harrods Department Store in West London. The passionate Fulham chief said on the club抯 official website that he has no intention whatsoever to let go of a club on the rise.

"The way Fulham is playing at the moment I can quite understand why it may be an attractive proposition to some people," said Al-Fayed. "But this is a club I love passionately and I have no intention of selling it, nor would I think about discussing offers."
