Soccer-Swollen-eyed Sun Jihai feels like “panda”
          ( 2003-11-03 16:10) (Chinadaily.com.cn)

"It's like four nails hammered into my eyebrow," said Sun Jihai after receiving four stitches to fix a cut on his eyebrow after Saturday's 2-0 victory over Southampton.

It may be Sun's worst injury in England.
"My swollen eyes are somewhat like those of a panda's after treatment,” he joked. “My eyes are wrapped entirely in bandages," said Sun describing the cut that resulted from a head-on crash with Chris Masdon of Southampton 36 minutes into the game.

"At that time, I thought all was over," said Sun. "I couldn't open my eyes; only sparkles rising." However, Sun showed his form after returning to the field just minutes later.

Sun went to a Manchester hospital on Sunday to have his eyebrow checked. He also told Chinese media that he hoped domestic fans wouldn’t worry about his injury.

"I can well endure the hurt and continue to show my form," Sun said.

Manchester City stole fifth place from Southampton on the Premiership table after Saturday's game with goals from Robbie Fowler and Paul Wanchop.
