The most popular programs of the 2004 China Central Television Spring Festival Gala have been announced at a CCTV Lantern Festival party on Thursday.

Comedian Zhao Benshan claimed the title among comic sketches, becoming the king of comedy for the sixth year in a row.

Folk song singer Song Zuying's "Looking at the Moon" or "Wang Yue" in Chinese, won top prize in the song and dance category.

The results are based on audience votes, done online or through cell phone text messages, as well as on the opinions of a panel of expert judges.
