          Local advisory body collects public opinions via short messages

          People in eastern China's JiangxiProvince are welcome to offer their opinions in short messages viatheir mobile phones to the ongoing second session of the provincial committee of the CPPCC (Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference).

          Over the past two days, many local mobile phone users received the same short message, saying "If you have any good suggestions for the session, please send them to the number of 0616, via whichthey can reach to the committee. Thanks for your support."

          "This is an absolutely new and favorable form for the advisory organization to collect public opinions via short messages," said Huang Rigao, general manager of Jiangxi Mobile Communications Co.,Ltd, who is also a standing committee member of the local CPPCC.

          To date, a total of 700 short messages, containing valuable ideas on urban traffic, community development and wage payment to teachers, have been transmitted to the local CPPCC committee.
