HK Avenue of Stars to open on April 27

Hong Kong Avenue of Stars is set to open to the public on April 27.

Complementing the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront, the avenue will feature pavement plaques commemorating Hong Kong movie personalities, past and present.

Outlining the local film industry's 100-year history, it also features a welcoming video, sculptures and souvenir kiosks. Special lighting will make the atmosphere even more enchanting at night.

Tourism Board Executive Director Clara Chong said Sunday thatthe Avenue of Stars caters to the huge interest in Hong Kongmovies that international film fans have developed over thedecades.

She said tourism staff will soon hand out Avenue of Starsinformation to tourists at Hong Kong's airports and immigrationcheckpoints. Tourists will also see theme decorations in variousparts of the city.

The Tourism Board is preparing a Hong Kong Movie Odyssey Guide featuring locations used for a number of famous Hong Kong scenes,allowing visitors to explore the areas used for their favoritecinematic pieces.

Hong Kong Tourism Board has also been working closely with the global travel trade to package and promote the avenue along with various movie-related activities.
