Opening door at night admits strange admirer
A woman mistook a stranger for her husband and let him in her home, but the uninvited guest turned out to be an admirer, reports Chongqing Commercial News.
When someone knocked at her door on Monday night, half-asleep Liu thought that it must be her husband back from night shift, and opened the door without turning on the light.
When she came back from the kitchen with food for her husband she found an unknown man sitting on the sofa.
The man introduced himself by saying that he had fallen in love with Liu at first sight several months ago. He couldn't help expressing his love to her though he knew she was married.
Then he went out of the door, leaving the woman still in a daze.
'Agreement' tarnishes true love in campus
A college student in Guiyang, capital of Guizhou Province, is seeking help from the local media after her boyfriend - also a student - said they should agree to part peacefully on graduation, Guizhou Daily reports.
Jiang Li started dating her boyfriend, Wei, a native of Gansu Province, earlier this year.
But the boy recently made the request, claiming he could not stay with her in Guizhou because he was the only child of his family and his parents demanded he return after graduation.
This has put Jiang in a dilemma, as she loves Wei but will not leave her hometown.
Many college students complain this is a common problem of campus life, with such "agreements" tarnishing true love.
Silver hairdo jolts granny into bone fracture
A frightened 72-year-old grandmother fell to the ground from her bed after being awakened by her loving granddaughter who had just had her black hair dyed silver last Sunday night, reports Yang Cheng Evening News.
The woman suffered from a hipbone fracture on her left side.
She had just settled down in her son's home in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, from a village. Her visit was welcomed by her granddaughter who had lived with her for a long time.
The 18-year-old fashionable girl was so saddened by the incident that she asked the hair salon to dye her hair black again early the next day.
Outdoor ads cause citizens' indignation
A bus stop advertisement showing a woman's private parts through a white translucent skirt in downtown Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, triggered great indignation from passers-by, reports Southern Metropolis News.
The ads, sponsored by a local hospital to promote its weight-loss surgeries, is placed in front of the city's bookstore building last week.
Authorities promised to investigate.
Breasts shrink during menstruation
A women in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, was disappointed when she found out that her breasts shrank to their previous size during her menstrual period despite having taken a breast enlargement product for two months. She lodged a complaint to the local consumers association recently asking for 5,000 yuan (US$600) in compensation, reports Yang Cheng Evening News.
Zhang had spent more than 8,000 yuan (US$960) on the product, which, she said, had enlarged her breasts, but every time her period came, the effect disappeared. The salesperson agreed to partially reimburse Zhang.
Woman wears 48 pieces of clothes to keep warm
A woman in Chiayi, Taiwan Province, has to wear 48 pieces of clothes, weighing more than 20 kilograms, in summer and winter to keep her warm, reports China News Agency.
She began suffering from the strange affliction after she lost more than NT$1 million to a swindler several years ago and was later confirmed as having cancer.
The woman, who is 1.6 metres tall and weighs 50 kilograms, could hardly move with the clothes on. Even the simplest activities like eating have to be done with the help of family members.
