          Haier tops most potential Chinese brand list

          Haier Group based in Qingdao, a eastern coastal city in Shandong Province, topped the "Most Potential Chinese Brands" list published by the Glebors Global Financial Reports of Canada (GGFR) earlier this week.

          The selection was made by Rewin Ander, a brand appraisal company of Canada.

          According to the GGFR, different from common Chinese enterprises, Haier is a global brand which has been adapting itself to different countries and different cultures.

          With more than 30 overseas manufacturing bases, Haier puts forward different products suitable to different consumption styles of different areas.

          According to a Haier executive, the company produces innovated products such as computer-controlled refrigerators in the United States; in Italy, Haier's energy-economized home appliances find agood market for meeting the environmental protection demand of European consumers. In Pakistan, Haier has not only produces refrigerators big enough for a large family, but also has established industrial home appliance standards for the local industry.

          Founded 20 years ago, Haier is the first Chinese brand to have more than 100 billion yuan (12 billion US dollars) assets. In 2004,Haier reported an export of more than 1 billion US dollars.

          At the beginning of 2004, Haier was listed as the only Chinese name brand among the world's 100 most recognizable brands in an global name brand list edited by World Brand Laboratory.
