Giant panda cub gets vaccination

A male giant panda cub is seen after its second vaccination against the canine distemper virus at the Smithsonian's National Zoo in Washington, D.C. September 30, 2005. The cub is strong and healthy, according to National Zoo veterinarians who examined the cub on Friday. The cub now weighs 11 pounds and is 24.7 inches long. National Zoo staff felt a ridge of teeth while examining the cub's mouth, which indicates its molars are beginning to come in.
