The Coen brothers' No Country for Old Men and Atonement lead this year's British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) nominations.
Atonement picked up nominations for Best Film, Best British Film, Best Director and Adapted Screenplay. The movie's stars Keira Knightley and James McAvoy have been nominated for Best Leading Actress and Best Leading Actor, respectively, while their costar Saoirse Ronan was given a nod for Best Supporting Actress.
No Country for Old Men scooped five nominations including Best Film and Best Director. Tommy Lee Jones was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Sheriff Ed Tom Bell.
Paul Thomas Anderson's There Will Be Blood also received five nods, including Best Film, Best Director and Best Leading Actor (Daniel Day-Lewis).
Cate Blanchett received two nods--for Best Leading Actress for Elizabeth: The Golden Age and Best Supporting Actress for I'm Not There.
Paul Greengrass' The Bourne Ultimatum, starring Matt Damon, received nominations for Best Director and Best British Film.
Meanwhile, Ratatouille, Shrek the Third and The Simpsons Movie were the only films to be featured in the Best Animated Movie category.
The awards will be handed out at a ceremony in London's Royal Opera House on Feb. 10.
