Master class savors premium Australian wine

Joyvio Group, the agricultural arm of Legend Holdings Corp, held the Second Joyvio International Wine Festival on Wednesday in conjunction with the renowned Australian Kilikanoon winery.

During the festival, a master class was held about Kilikanoon Attunga Shiraz, made from some of Australia's oldest living vines, planted around 1865. The wines are available at Joyvio's online shop, with prices ranging from around 500-2,000 yuan ($81-323).

Kilikanoon hails from the Clare Valley, one of the premium grape-growing regions of the world in southern Australia.

The winery boasts the oldest vines in the region, which will turn 150 years old in September.

Winemaker Kevin Mitchell from Kilikanoon winery had just flown in from Australia to Beijing to host the event.

Mitchell has been crowned as "the youngest genius winemaker in Australia" by Robert Parker Jr, widely regarded as the world's most powerful wine critic.

Mitchell says that the old vines are thick, with gnarly trunks, and still very healthy.

They are low-yielding vines, with small berries of great flavor and intensity, he says.
