Global Sources' China Sourcing Fair's electronics show will open in Hong Kong on Oct 11 in Hong Kong to cater the growing demand for consumer electronics in Hong Kong and on the mainland. There will be some 3,700 booths manned by suppliers from the mainland, South Korea and nine other economies. Most of the exhibitors are private manufacturers, with 90 percent of them exhibiting exclusively at the China Sourcing Fair.

The four-day exhibition, to be held at AsiaWorld-Expo, comprises the Global Sources Electronics and Components Fair; the China Sourcing Fair: Security Products; and the Korea Sourcing Fair: Electronics and Components.

Industry experts estimate that connected-home device sales will draw in $61 billion in revenues this year, while the global automotive electronics market is projected to grow at a rate of 7.3 percent to hit $314.4 billion by 2020. "It's a great potential for us," Wong said. "Future development in the consumer electronics industry will focus on homes, automotives and offices."

The smart-home market is expected to rake in $60 billion by 2017 amid high demand for smart electronics, Internet entertainment products, smart monitors and healthcare products, according to Global Source. It's estimated that the value of the global consumer electronics market will reach $1.6 trillion by 2018.

"In adopting these new themes for our Electronics and Components show, we are leading the way in providing buyers with the products and intelligence they need to serve their customers," said Bennie Hui, general manager with Global Sources.

In addition, the show will host Asia's largest pavilion for in-car electronics and GPS. Big-name global buyers will attend, including Amazon, eBay, Foxconn and Fujitsu.
