俄猛男摔倒堅持完賽
當地時間2014年2月11日，俄羅斯索契，越野滑雪男子自由式個人競速賽半決賽，東道主選手賈法羅夫與身旁的選手發生了碰撞，導致失去平衡直接摔了出去。摔壞了左腳雪板已經沒辦法固定，經過一個下坡點時他又摔倒在地上，但他還是要爬起來繼續戰斗！更換了一只新的雪板后，他終于還是滑到了終點。最后賈法羅夫的成績是6分25秒95，而第一名的成績是3分36秒33。他身上的奧林匹克精神比金牌更為可貴。
美艦艇抵達西海軍基地
當地時間2014年2月11日，西班牙羅塔海軍基地，美國海軍宙斯盾驅逐艦“唐納德·庫克”號抵達，該艦將是美國駐扎在歐洲的4艘彈道導彈防御艦艇中的第一艘。據悉，這是奧巴馬政府“分階段適應方案”彈道導彈防御計劃的一部分工作，該計劃將在西班牙部署宙斯盾驅逐艦，在羅馬尼亞（2015年投入使用）和波蘭（2018年投入使用）建設兩個宙斯盾岸基設施。
