The succession issue: Like father, unlike son
Unlike most of his peers, Wang Sicong, the son of real estate tycoon Wang Jianlin, was educated abroad from an early age. He did his primary school in Singapore, middle school in the United Kingdom, and then in University College, London.
After returning to China, Wang became a board member in his father's Wanda Group and chairman of Prometheus Capital, a private equity investment firm which was supported by his father with 500 million yuan ($80.6 million) of investment.
Wang is called the "national husband" by many people on Sina Weibo and regarded as the country's most eligible bachelor.
His criticisms of leading luminaries and actresses have often triggered online spats and become top trending topics on microblogs.
On Valentine's Day, he told reporters that his top criteria for choosing a girlfriend was that she had to be "buxom". For this he was criticized by Xinhua News Agency, which said he was spreading "undesirable obsessions with money, sex and violence". Wang replied on Weibo that he "apparently made a joke" and "can't believe someone had taken it seriously".
On May 25, he posted four pictures through his Weibo account of his pet dog named Wang Keke that showed his dog wearing two Apple Watches on its legs. The pet's Weibo said "I should have worn four Apple Watches on my four legs, but that looks too luxurious. Do you have one?"
