厲害啦！北京大學(xué)牛津開分校

近日，北京大學(xué)匯豐商學(xué)院購買了英國開放大學(xué)位于牛津市的校舍，著手創(chuàng)辦北大匯豐商學(xué)院牛津校區(qū)，該校區(qū)將成為中國大學(xué)第一次在海外獨(dú)立建設(shè)、自主管理的實(shí)體辦學(xué)機(jī)構(gòu)。該消息受到外媒關(guān)注，英國廣播公司等主流英媒均予以報(bào)道。

According to an official announcement released by Peking University in March, the university's HSBC Business School has acquired a medieval campus in Oxford from the Open University in Britain. This purchase marks the first attempt by a Chinese university to build and manage an overseas branch school. Peking University Oxford Center and Shenzhen Oxford Innovation Center will also be built in the near future to serve as a combined platform for innovation and international cooperation on higher education.
根據(jù)北京大學(xué)3月份發(fā)布的官方公告，該校匯豐商學(xué)院從英國開放大學(xué)購買了其位于牛津市的中世紀(jì)校舍。這次購置校舍是中國高校首次嘗試自主建立和管理海外分校。未來學(xué)校還將建設(shè)北京大學(xué)牛津中心和深圳牛津創(chuàng)新中心作為高等教育創(chuàng)新與國際合作的聯(lián)合平臺(tái)。

The bold move comes as the Chinese government steps up its efforts to build globally-renowned universities that lead the world in teaching quality and research. According to a blueprint released by Chinese authorities in 2016, the country has promised to allocate 2.5 percent of the country's gross domestic product for research and development by 2020, while several Chinese universities are expected to improve their global rankings to attract more talent.
這一大膽舉措正值中國政府加大力度打造教學(xué)質(zhì)量和研究能力全球領(lǐng)先的世界知名大學(xué)之際。根據(jù)中國政府2016年發(fā)布的藍(lán)圖，中國承諾至2020年前使研發(fā)經(jīng)費(fèi)占國內(nèi)生產(chǎn)總值的2.5%，而中國多所高校有望提高全球排名，吸引更多人才。

Hai Wen, head of HSBC Business School, told Southcn.com that the fast development of China's economy and scientific expertise means more and more Chinese universities will reach out to the world.
匯豐商學(xué)院院長海聞對(duì)南方網(wǎng)稱，中國經(jīng)濟(jì)和科學(xué)技術(shù)的迅速發(fā)展意味著越來越多的中國大學(xué)將走向世界。

"Our overseas school will focus on China's finance and enterprise management. Foreign students will have the chance to study Chinese culture, economics and history, as well as to visit various enterprises and financial institutions in China. Such opportunities cannot be found in any other foreign universities," said Hai. Hai also noted that several foreign universities have shown great interest in the new Oxford campus, including Oxford University.
“我們的海外學(xué)院的重點(diǎn)專業(yè)是中國的金融和企業(yè)管理。外國學(xué)生將有機(jī)會(huì)學(xué)習(xí)中國文化、經(jīng)濟(jì)以及歷史，還能參觀不同的中國企業(yè)和金融機(jī)構(gòu)。這樣的機(jī)會(huì)是其他很多國外大學(xué)做不到的。”海聞還指出，牛津大學(xué)等國外大學(xué)，對(duì)北京大學(xué)牛津新校區(qū)表現(xiàn)出了極大的興趣。

According to the official website of Peking University, the Oxford campus will start enrolling students in 2018, with a focus on recruiting students from the UK and other European countries.
