2. bestow
bestow的意思是"贈(zèng)與；給與"。bestow charity和bestow an honor是經(jīng)常用到的。平常使用的時(shí)候，一定要注意要和以下幾個(gè)詞區(qū)分開來(lái)：
A: Give 是最平常、最普通、最口語(yǔ)化的"給"。比如：give me an apple。
B: Confer 雖然也有"給與"的意思，但這種"給"一般是有上下級(jí)的關(guān)系的時(shí)候才會(huì)使用。比如：Confer a college degree。
C: Donate 一般用做捐贈(zèng)來(lái)講，比如：donate a great sum of money to the school。
3. fine prints
這是一個(gè)法律上的常用詞匯，意思是"意思不清的話"。比如在甲乙雙方簽訂合同的時(shí)候，有時(shí)我們會(huì)發(fā)現(xiàn)合同中出現(xiàn)一些模糊的條款。fine prints 指的就是這些條款。那么"很多人喜歡鉆法律的空子"，就可以說(shuō)：Some businessmen always take advantage of the fine prints to make a fast buck.
4. That's final
意思是"好了，到此為止吧！"經(jīng)常是雙方發(fā)生口角或爭(zhēng)執(zhí)的時(shí)候用。如："別再說(shuō)了，就這么定了。"就可直接說(shuō)成"That's final."
5. hit traffic
很少會(huì)有學(xué)生把這個(gè)短語(yǔ)用的很好，因?yàn)樵诖蠹业哪X子當(dāng)中有一個(gè)根深蒂固的短語(yǔ)：be in the traffic jam！即使已經(jīng)學(xué)過(guò)了很多遍的hit traffic，再塞車的時(shí)候，大家還會(huì)脫口而出："I'm in the traffic jam." 當(dāng)然這種表達(dá)是對(duì)的，但卻不是最口語(yǔ)化的。那么在看完這個(gè)片段之后，希望大家一定要記住這個(gè)非常地道的用法：hit traffic。除此之外，還可以用I'm stuck in the traffic來(lái)替換。
6. oops
很小的詞，意思是"啊呀"！。比如差點(diǎn)把郵件發(fā)錯(cuò)了對(duì)象，這時(shí)就可以說(shuō)："Oops, I almost sent the e-mail to the wrong guy."
