The lawyers for Middleton, 25, have written to the Press Complaints Commission (PCC) after filming incidents outside her home and office, and when she arrived at and left nightclubs both with and without the prince, according to the newspaper.

"The intrusion into my client's private life and the harassment that she has suffered are now amply evidenced by the events of the past seven days," read the letter from Middleton's lawyer, a copy of which was obtained by the newspaper.

"We have a large amount of very interesting but disturbingfilm footageof those events ... What I should make quite clear is that if there is any further intrusion, then acomplaintwill be made to you."

PCC Director Tim Toulmin was quoted by the newspaper as saying: "The letter is an absolute final warning".

Toulmin was planning to write a letter to newspaper editors around the country, enclosing a copy of the letter from Middleton's lawyers, the Telegraph said.

The report follows an appeal from the 24-year-old prince, second in line to the throne, who wants "more than anything ... for the paparazzi to stop harassing her," a spokesman for his father's Clarence House office said last week.

The intense spotlight on William'sphotogenicgirlfriend has drawn comparisons with his mother Diana, who was hounded from before her 1981 marriage to Prince Charles and whose death is still blamed by some on stalking paparazzi.
