Woman of substance

Guangzhou Song and Dance Ensemble will debut its original musical Miss Xiguan in the city on Dec 19, telling a touching story about a young woman who conquers all obstacles to establish a philanthropic hospital for women and children. Xiguan was the area where many rich business people lived in early 20th century. Miss Xiguan refers to the well-educated young women born in well-off families. The stage and costume designs will take the audience time traveling to see how women during those times led their lives in Xiguan.
