Moxibustion

This is the application of heat from the burning of a small bundle of tightly bound herbs, or moxa, on targeted acupoints.

It is often used alongside acupuncture. This often produces pain and scarring. For people who have asthma or other breathing problems, smokeless moxa can be used. Heating the body on energetically active points is believed to help prevent illness and promote healing.
