Northeast China's Jilin province reported the value of foreign trade in its cross-border e-commerce hit 443 million yuan ($67.5 million) in the first 10 months this year, with year-on-year growth surging 399.3 percent, customs officials told a news conference in the province's capital city – Changchun, on Dec 1.

During the period, the province's volume of trade from cross-border e-commerce totaled 1,363.2 metric tons, about 12.1 times the level for the same period last year.

The province's total export value of booming cross-border e-commerce sector achieved 440 million yuan, up 424.8 percent on the previous corresponding period. The export freight volume was 1,279.1 tons, a year-on-year increase of 13.5 times. The main export commodities were household goods, clothing and electronics products.

The value of imports recorded a decline of 33.2 percent year-on-year, but the freight volume of 84 tons was up 424.5 percent on the same period last year.

The province plans to promote the continued healthy and orderly development of its cross-border e-commerce.

To do so, Changchun customs plans to focus on expanding its diversified growth, optimizing the business environment and regulations and improving the standardized development of the sector.

At the same time, while working on its supervision, efforts will be made to broaden logistics and transportation channels.

Changchun customs would also reform the supervision of B2B exports in cross-border e-commerce, which would be implemented throughout the province.
