The tourist stamp album Beautiful Bengbu, jointly published by the tourist administration and post department of Bengbu city, Anhui province, made its debut on April 9.

At the initial publication ceremony in the post office hall located on Shengli Road, Yang Qipeng, the intangible cultural heritage successor for carving, presented his miniature carving skills to the city residents.

The album utilizes the natural and cultural sceneries of Bengbu as backgrounds and consists of 12 "Bengbu Sceneries" stamps, 12 "Peach" stamps and one stamp featuring the Year of the Snake.

The "Bengbu Sceneries" include 12 individual stamps featuring scenic areas such as Longzi Lake, Hequan Farm, the Bengbu Water Conservancy scenic area, Zhanggong Mountain, Bairu Spring, Tuohe River Wetland, Flower-Drum Lantern Carnival Park, Senhe Modern Flower Park, Rising Moon Resort, Daming Cultural Industrial Park, Dayu Statue (also known as Yu the Great, a legendary ruler in ancient China famous for flood control) and the North-South Climate Landmark in Bengbu.

Many stamp collectors were excited for the event. An old man over 80 said that in all his years collecting stamps, this was only the second occasion where the stamps took on the cultural customs of Bengbu. He keep another set of "Bengbu History for One Hundred Year" as well. He hopes more of these stamps will be available as the city develops.

At the initial publication ceremony, Yang Qipeng, the famous intangible cultural heritage successor for carving, carved a delicate miniature carving on the album. He also carved a design on the envelopes for city residents so that the prints and handmade art could be combined together. The set of stamps is worth 120 yuan ($19); 500 sets were publicized at the initial ceremony. More than 200 sets were sold at the initial publication ceremony.
