In celebration of China Tourism Day (May 19), a tourism campaign was officially launched on May 19, 2013. Four different one-day tour lines starting from the newly-constructed Hefei Xinqiao International Airport are now available for tourists.

The airport will be temporarily open to visitors from May 19 to 30 before it is officially put into use. Four tour lines are available during this period:

1. Ecological leisure trip: Xinqiao Airport – Hongshi Bridge (the starting point of the Nanfei River) – Guanting Ecological Garden – Xiaotuan Mountain – Liu Lao Yu (former private manor of Liu Mingchuan, the "father of Taiwan modernization") – Zipeng Mountain

2. Scientific research and practice trip: Xinqiao Airport – Science Island – Hefei Modern Science and Technology Museum – Yuanquan Museum – Hefei Science and Technology Museum

3. Hefei experiencing trip: Xinqiao Airport – DaShushan Forest Park – Memorial of the Yangtze River Crossing Battle – Binhu Lake Wetland Forest Park

4. Xinqiao experiencing trip: A commemoration of the first flight at Xinqiao Airport

The above four tour lines are different prices and are all less than 100 yuan ($16.13). Once the airport opens to traffic, the surrounding area is the only part that will remain available for visitors.

Located in Feixi county, Hefei, Xinqiao International Airport is 31.8 kilometers away from the center of Hefei. It is designed to accommodate an annual passenger volume of 11 million people.
