Shouxian county, Anhui province, was conferred the title of 'Hometown of Chinese Calligraphy' by the China Calligraphers Association. The ceremony was held on July 20.

Shouxian county calligraphy has a long history and enjoys a high status in China. Many famous calligraphers left their mark on calligraphy here, such as Huang Tingjian, Zhao Mengfu and Dong Qichang. In recent years, the county government has placed high value on the development of calligraphy, striving to create a good environment for its growth. The county's cultural construction is now booming thanks to its achievements in calligraphy.
