The design and development of Mushan Island (the largest island on Chaohu Lake) has been put on the agenda of Beijing Zhongkun Group. Foreign experts invited by the group are coming to Mushan Island for investigation on September 10.

Experts from the United States are planning to design large-scale water battle performances set on the island. A team that has relevant experience in Dubai will also join the facility.

According to Zhao Yinong, deputy director of the Chaohu tourism bureau, experts from the United States will offer advice mainly on technical aspects of the performance, but the content will still be based on local culture and history.

As for operation and management of the island, the group is planning to adopt the so-called 'Hongcun model'. Hongcun, a small ancient village in Huangshan city, Anhui province, is another project run by Zhongkun Group. Tourism has become the major source of income of Hongcun, and this model can be best summarized as 'led by government, operated by enterprises, and shared by villagers'.

It is already clear that conservation of the environment and protection of local residents will be emphasized. There will be no large-scale projects such as holiday villages or luxurious hotels on the island.
