Residence certificates

Foreigners who enter China holding the employment visas shall，within thirty days after their entry，apply for foreigner residence certificate or temporary residence certificate with the public security organs under the municipality or county government in the place of residence by presenting their Employment Permit. The term of validity of the residence permit is the duration of the stay in China of the holders of residence permit. Foreigner residence permit is issued to foreigners staying in China for more than one year. Temporary foreigner residence permit is issued to foreigners staying in China for less than one year.
