The permanent representative office of foreign company shall not engage in profitable operation

The representative office of foreign company shall not engage in profitable operation. Under conditions otherwise stipulated that international treaty or agreement signed by China, this rule shall be invalid.

In accordance with rules concerned, the representative office in China of foreign company may engage in the following operation: 1) market investigation, exhibition and promotion related to foreign company’s products or services; 2) liaison related product sales, services, procurement and investment. If the operations shall be subject to ratification, the approval is obligatory.
